Valeria turned instinct into a company.

Eloquent Wines started long before the first box was packed. Back in 2018, our founder Valeria and her friends made it a habit: drive through France in an old Jaguar, stop at special wineries and village shops, picking up the wines they’d never heard of — just to see what was out there. Saint nicolas de Bourgueil, Mâconnais, Sauterne... The good appellations even stayed in memory.

Years passed. Most of what they drank was French — not because of the prestige, but because it felt balanced, thoughtful, and real. Later, after moving to Barcelona in 2024 and travelling half of the world, new tastes came - Catalan naturals, a Rubula from Slovenia on a sailing trip, a Monastrell with a colonial trade story hidden in its roots in Mexico. At some point, friends started asking Valeria for wine recommendations - not because she knew the prices or grapes, but had the perfect story for any occassion.

In 2025, Valeria left her e-commerce job in Germany to build something more personal. She took everything from her day-time career — marketing, partnerships negotiations, customer experience — and went on a 1.5-month road trip through Italy and France to find the wines that mattered. Not the ones you can just "google" and buy, but the ones that live in small cellars, with real stories and real hands behind them.

The first wines in the project were picked by her, one by one.

Now, Eloquent Wines is a curated wine box built for a modern, international audience — expats, creatives, entrepreneurs. People who know their grapes but want wine to feel like discovery again.

We choose wines the same way we travel: off the main roads, away from what’s obvious, always in search of what’s real.

As we avoid the touristic paths — both in wine and in life — we bring wines from lesser-known appellations and micro-regions.

Moments and that hedonistic approach of " it's either a hell yes or a NO" helps us truly connect with wines that we buy. That selection process is intuitive, human, and sometimes even impulsive — in the best way. We may walk the vineyards or stand around barrels as we talk in a cellar — and sometimes not about acidity levels, but about life, music, stories.

That’s where the real selection happens.

Funny story happened once when we picked a wine not because it had the best minerality or aging potential (though it did), but because we had a long discussion about 1970s music, trying to determine which was the best album of that time. The Rise and fall of Ziggy Stardust? Or The dark side of the moon?
